This starts a whirlwind deal with them becoming partners and working together to develop an app to make diabetes in older people more manageable. This leads to a confrontation when they both meet as Dimple was not informed of the arrangement. Dimple on the other hand is against this idea and she feels it will limit her independence. Rishi wholeheartedly believes in arranged marriage. The central conflict of the novel revolves around the arranged marriage. Dimple Shah is an Indian-American teen going into her freshman year at college. When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon is an interesting read with a insight into Indian-American culture.
